A new genus. Never before documented in the Hell Creek Formation. A first for science.
This crocodilian lived alongside T. rex in the final chapter of the Cretaceous — 66 million years ago, just before the asteroid impact that ended the Age of Dinosaurs. Despite over a century of intensive excavation in Hell Creek, this animal remained completely unknown to science until now.
What makes it even more remarkable is the preservation. The complete skull and lower jaws with teeth in place, articulated vertebrae, dorsal osteoderms with incredible surface detail, limb elements, and rare skin impressions — all in natural position on a single matrix slab. For a Hell Creek crocodilian, this kind of completeness simply doesn't exist.
Scientifically significant. Visually stunning. Genuinely one of a kind.
