Prehistoric Predation Scene - Green River Formation
This exceptional framed mural from the Green River Formation (Eocene Epoch, approximately 52 million years ago) captures a rare prehistoric predation event. The large, natural limestone matrix features a twenty-inch Diplomystus fossilized in the act of consuming a smaller Priscacara, whose defensive spines are visibly preserved. The composition also includes a seventeen inch Notogoneus a rare bottom-dwelling species native to the center of the ancient lake and a secondary, intentionally unprepared Diplomystus that beautifully illustrates the raw state of discovery. Every specimen is entirely authentic and remains exactly in its original natural placement, without any composite inlay.
Aesthetic Application Encased in a custom wooden frame, the piece measures 48 by 29 inches (122 x 74 cm). The stark contrast between the finely articulated, dark skeletal structures and the warm, light limestone makes this an extraordinary spatial focal point. Its dynamic natural narrative and substantial scale are ideally suited for sophisticated residential spaces or high-end commercial interiors.
